Hurricane Wilma started as a tropical depression, and strengthened to a tropical storm later. It reached a category 2 right after hitting Mexico and islands near it, Wilma then slightly entered the Gulf of Mexico strengthening to a category 3 and hitting Florida. After Florida it took a peculiar turn and went over sea almost parallel to the East Coast of America.
